In the rural area, firewood is the major energy used for cooking food. This has led to rapid deforestation. This in one hand diminishes the existing forest and on the other hand increases the risk of flood and soil erosion. JBS Urja Pvt. Ltd. comes up with an idea of Biogas plant as the ultimate cooking solution. This allows an opportunity to provide a cleaner and safer source of energy, enabling rural families to produce their own heat and fertilizer. The biogas plant can be used for years without any harmful effect and other additional expenses. It saves time, expenses on fuel and also contributes to family income by increasing the agricultural production. We have recently introduced a biogas that could be operated on the household wastes of the kitchen like vegetable wastes, biodegradable wastes, leftover foods and so on. We are on the piloting phase of this biogas. We have been showing demo to the local people at fairs, centre meeting and other places and also collecting the demand. People are appreciating this concept. We have also launched a company named Biogas and Energy Company whose objective is to promote the use of biogas in the rural areas of Nepal.
